Let the healing streams abound

“Jesus, Lover of my soul”, ein populäres englischsprach-iges Kirchenlied, verdankt sich dem Schaffen Charles Wesleys (1707-1788), einem der Mitbegründer der methodistischen Kirche. In dieser musikalischen Fassung (Melodie von Joseph Parry) findet man dies schöne Lied heute am ehesten in methodistischen Gemeinden.

Der wunderbare Fernando Ortega war aber auch so frei, es zu vertonen. Übrigens hat dieses Lied auch seinen Weg ins deutsche Kirchenliedgut gefunden, unter dem Titel “Jesus, Heiland meiner Seele” (für die, die es googeln wollen).
